AD-PLCC44-A 40-pin PLCC to 40-pin DIL Package Adaptor for the 8051 family Overview... This adaptor features a 44-pin PLCC ZIF socket to accept a standard 44-pin LIVE BUG PLCC device. It is intended for programming the 44-pin PLCC 8051 family of devices in a programmer which only accepts the DIL 40-pin versions. The PLCC and DIL pins are not connected pin to pin as there are too many PLCC pins. The correct signal and power lines are mapped from the 44-pin PLCC ZIF socket to a 40-pin DIL device pinout on a 100 mil (0.1”) pitch, 600 mil (0.6”) pitch width header. A 10nF capacitor is connected between the DIL pins 40 and 20 for power supply decoupling purposes. Operation... Insert the adaptor into the ZIF socket of the programmer in the same position that the DIL version of the part would sit. Carefully align the PLCC device in the socket with the part code of the device upwards (live bug) and pin one of the device towards the top of the adaptor.
