Description
ECT3408 1.2A, 1.5MHz Step-Down Converter Description The ECT34 08 is a 1.5M Hz constant frequency current mode PWM step-down co nverter. It is ideal for po rtable equipment re quiring very high current up to 1.2A from single-cell Lit hium-ion batt eries whil e st ill achieving over 90% efficiency during peak load conditions. The ECT3408 also can run at 100% duty cycle for low dropout operation, extending battery life in p ortable systems while lig ht load operation provides very lo w output ripple for noise sensitive applications. The ECT3408 can supply up to 1.2A o utput load cu rrent from a 2.5V t o 5.5V input voltage and the outp ut voltage can be regulated as lo w as 0.6V. The high swit ching frequency mi nimizes the size of external co mponents while keeping switching l osses low. T he internal slope compensation setting all ows the device to operate with smaller indu ctor value s to optimize size and provide efficient operation. The ECT3408 is available in adjustable (0.6V to VIN) and fixed (1.8V) output voltage versio ns. The d evice is available i n a Pb-fre e, 3x 3mm TDFN-1 0 pa ckage a nd is rated over the -40°C to+85°C temperature range.
