The peripheral set includes 3 USARTs, 4 UARTs, 3 TWIs, 1 SPI, as well as 1 PWM timer, 2 three-channel general-purpose 16-bit timers (with stepper motor and quadrature decoder logic support), a low-power RTC, a low-power RTT, 256-bit general purpose backup registers, a 10-bit ADC (up to 12-bit with digital averaging) and a 10-bit DAC with an internal voltage reference. The SAM4N devices have three software-selectable low-power modes: Sleep, Wait and Backup. In Sleep mode, the processor is stopped while all other functions can be kept running. In Wait mode, all clocks and functions are stopped but some peripherals can be configured to wake up the system based on.
